![]() ![]() I knew the large building we were approaching had to be the palace, it had all the signs of one. In front of the palace there was a fountain (not running) with a statue of a Moodhist dragon as the central spout. The streets were nearly barren of civilians, but militant-looking bipedal creatures of all shapes and sizes were not uncommon. It felt like I was looking at the architectural style of a Granvian castle, masterfully spread out over an entire city. A uniform blue was the main color choice of other materials and detailings were a pleasant yellow/gold accent. The uniformity of the white brick looked sophisticated in construction but simple to the eyes. ![]() I noticed the lowered paths near the walkways were covered in a layer of running water, the runoff system built here was performing well under the high volume of water pouring from the sky. I was following Lilac at a jogging pace through the noisy storm, staying to her side to not get slapped by her hair. Lilac was doing the same for the front corner and had tied her knot into the shape of a bow. "We're here! Now off to the Capitol building!" I took the nearby corner rope and tied it around the dock's corresponding corner post. When we finally approached the dock, Lilac playfully exclaimed as if this were a school trip. If she wasn't worried, I shouldn't be either. I looked over at Lilac, and she was perfectly calm. The sound of them simmering away blended well with the ocean's waves. Each raindrop felt heavy, and deliberate. It spanned across almost the entire horizon. I was able to see the mainland as lightning graciously illuminated the outline against the gray sky. We will be looking to dock as soon as possible, before the weather picks up." "Priority cargo to the royal palace requesting boat conditions. Lilac clicked a button on her earpiece twice before activating it like normal. "That's from… where we are heading, isn't it?" I'm probably underselling it!" Thunder boomed in the distance. "Well that voice was good enough to earn immortality. It makes for a potent voice, to say the least." "The elegance of a songbird intertwined with the ferocity of fire. I'd probably go crazy if that were the case." Wait, do you two just have random conversations like… all the time?" We are having a debate on whether your eyes are crimson, or magenta. "Lilac, can I get a closer look at your eyes? Phe wants to see them." Unusually, I was okay getting showered with it and didn't generate any heat to resist. Our path had brought us beneath the dark clouds, they were sprinkling a consistent, yet soft rain onto us. "I don't want to spoil anything! Though, I will say that machines are significantly less common." "Maybe you could make a few more friends while you were there too!" "If my friends could come… Then I absolutely would!" Lilac's small, fluffy tail moved independently from her for the first time. I couldn't find a good way to break the silence created by my own question. Even if I've lived here my entire life, looking down from above always feels like the first time… To actually answer your question, airships… mostly. And when I look below, it's like I'm on a new world. "I've always wanted to see what's out there. Lilac glanced at me for a moment, only for her to stare into the sky after. ![]() ![]() Lilac was standing on the opposite side near the controls while leaning on the railing. We were back on the boat, fast on our way to the mainland. ![]()
